My brother's in law FMC # 638 has the original all electric and my wife likes it better,
we never do dry camping and when we travel we always use the power generator, so
for us the heavy battery drain is not a problem, our current refrigerator is a
Dometic 3804 series I believe, and fits perfect in the original FMC's opening.

send me a private email,(pm) if interested on trading or selling yours.

Thank You

The original Norcold all electric fridge works fine on the road without the genset running. We travel all day, no gen, park overnight without plugging in, Have hot water as the water heater has the heat exchanger that ties into the engine cooling system. I know some owners run the genset to power the domestic A/C units. I have not done that yet but see how it can be worthwhile. I hope to have the engine A/C systems working soon.

Billy if you were in Dixie I guarantee you would run the genset & Air Conditioners (we have no auto air). We are satisfied with our AC/Propane Norcold 962/982, never an issue. We do not run it on propane while traveling and carry a 12 Volt cooler for drinks and snacks, it helps keep the frig door closed.
