Does anyone have a cross reference number/manufacturer for the outboard rear axel drive shaft u-joints? I am going to see my parts guy later today. He is confident he will be able to find one - just thought a part number would be easier. I may need a couple of wheel cylinders also so part #'s may be helpful there too.
Thanks -- Al

Buy Spicer or Arvin-Meritor U-Joints as they are much heavier than the Precision Joints.

Of course, the heavier joints are more expensive - BUT they will last longer so that your first cost is not your LEAST COST.

Hey les
Thanks for the input. I have used federal products in the past and have had excellent results. I compared the old joint(s) to the new federal part and was pleasantly surprised to see the federal part was every bit as beefy as the current joints on the unit. 120.00 CAN each seems reasonable enough. Frankly I am not certain how a heavier u-joint would fit without binding while the wheel was turning. I am going to need another one so I'll take your advice Les and have my parts guy order the equivalent in a spicer unit. If nothing else at least I'll be able to compare the two joints over time to comfirm the durability of the spicer joint vs the federal unit. I would certainly install all HD units if the joints were difficult to change but it's only a 10 minute job and one I don't mind doing.

Al-

Always remember that parts on your or any FMC Coach may or may not be the HD or best choice for comparison. With the passage of time you will know what has been replaced and with what quality parts.

The Journals and the Metallurgy are the important qualities

Our price for the HD joints are $81.53 at the diff. and $113.26 at the wheel.
