   Location: Victoria, BC. Canada | I'd suggest a real good adhesive under the pads with SS lag screws with lock washers. If it's a custom built unit, I'd have the pads at least 3" x 3" to spread the load and land them directly over the alum roof framing. I'd also use aluminum or SS as I've seen first hand what rusting metal does to the roof of an FMC. Also, remember to allow sufficient height over the rear ceiling vent as well as access if you need to work on it.
Maybe post some pics when you're done as I'm also thinking of a custom roof rack for mine.
