Location: Seabeck Washington | I just got my hands on # 460 for free, it sat for about ten years, had it running in about a half hour. After replacing the brake line under the front i drove it home ( about ten miles) The restoration begins.
The wall vinyl inside is past ever looking nice again. if i pull it off what will i find underneath? What are the interior walls made from?

Location: Medford, OR | On #184 I stripped the nasty wallpaper off both coach doors, cleaned the glue off with Acetone, and the aluminum was a little crude in spots, but this was on the edges mostly, I didn't do any polishing, I installed the panels back on the doors and they looked good, kinda like an airplane theme or something...I would have probably recovered with something, but someone could make a pretty cool custom interior using some of the aluminum paneling.. |

Location: Oslo Norway | Acetone did nothing on the contact cement used on #477. You will have to do s lot of adding new rivets, sanding and buffing before polishing. Still it will look nothing like a polished aircraft or Airstream.
If you want polished alumium interior walls, save a couple of hundred hours and add new panels on top of the old.
Trust me.....ask anyone....I'll polish anything.

Location: Seabeck Washington | guess i'll have to decide when i see it stripped. i could always do swirls with scotchbrite and a drill, fishscale type.
I ended up with this FMC project the day after i told my wife i have too many projects, I got "The Look" when i told her about it, then when she saw it she agreed to help. It was too cool to turn away. It also had Alcao wheels and new tires.
