Location: Seabeck Washington | I own #460. I haven't had it long, only a few months. Had to get it running to drive it home ( about ten miles) I noticed when i punched it , it would not kick down to lower gear. So today i asked my wife today to slowly push the gas pedal down so i can see what the linkage is doing. I crawl under the RV and realize there is no linkage, somewhat had removed it all and zipped tied the lever on the transmission. i haven't taken the time yet to figure out if someone put on a different carb and left things off. What to do.. is this linkage special to FMC or can i get this from any 440 auto tranny setup? I was hoping I was done with the mechanical portion of fixing this... surprise!! I'm addicted and determined anyway.

The fuel injection throttle body was modified to work with the stock kickdown setup. I'd bet that any big block mopar/727 equipped vehicle would be a good donor for replacement linkage.
My full engine and trans package is being sold to the owner of #587 (Eric) since he has a full package now he may sell off the linkage from one. It'll be a couple weeks before I get to the engine pulling point. |
