(97.94.227.253) | I recently receive the following email from Lou Cruse about the availability of an aftermarket unit that adds Tap Shift to earlier 5 spd Allison transmissions. My 6 spd already incorporated this feature and I love it! If you are using the earlier 5 spd, I strongly recommend that you look into this option. While the article shows how to install it in a truck or pickup, in an FMC the Tow-Haul button and a momentary double throw switch for the Tap Shift can be added to the dash.
Ran across this while looking for something else. Maybe your Duramax/Allison FMCs already have this.
