Subject: updating the DB



Location: Clovis, Ca
I tried updating the DB for coach 478, but could not.
Filled out the updated info, but did not see a "submit" button.

Also, got this:
Only Members may update their own Coach record.
Contact the administrator if you feel you received this message in error.


What is the problem?

Hi Jerry.

The problem was you were not listed as a member, and your login name must match on the Coach/Member database in order to update the information.

I've added you to the member roster so that you can edit your coach and personal info. Are you a member of the FMC Owner's Club? If so, please provide your FMCA membership number.

Thanks, Jim.
Actually this is Bernie, Jerry's son. I am trying to help him navigate through all this. I went to the members roster to put in all the member details at:
http://www.fmcowners.com/mbbs22/roster.asp?

And filled out the info.
My dad was not an FMCA member, so he paid for a year membership and joined.

Got this response:
Registered members may only update their own records


Could this be that I am sitting at another computer (not my dad's IP address) when I am doing this?




Also in trying to update the coach data base for coach 478 at:
http://www.fmcowners.com/mbbs22/coach.asp?

There is no "submit" or "update database" option at the end of the form.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi Bernie, very sorry for the inconvenience, I'm sure it's not your fault. I tried 'impersonating' you and found a small error in the forms that I think prevented the program from recognizing you. The computer you are at should not matter as long as you are logged in as Jerry and have cookies enabled.

Try the coach database again, http://www.fmcowners.com/mbbs22/coach.asp?serialnumber=487
and let me know the save button appears for you now?

Got the coach DB updated, now am trying to tackle the member roster.
Filled in all the blanks except for the MBBS login (what's that?) and got the same:
Registered members may only update their own records


Is it because I did not put anything into the MBBS box?

That's weird! Perhaps it is not filling in the form from the database when you requested the member record?

Yes, put your login 'Jerry' into the MBBS login box and see if that works.

Yes, that is weird.
Tried again with Jerry in the MBBS spot, but still got:
Registered members may only update their own records


is it possible that I am actually not a registered user?
or maybe that "Jerry" is registered as another user (record)?

On the USER LISTING, I see this:

Username Coach Rank Location Date registered Last login
56 Jerry 0487 Contributor Clovis, Ca 2008-01-24 2008-02-04

Puzzled.
