Subject: Engine weights

Regular

252525
I recently pulled the 440 and 727 out of 669 as a complete assembly and was curious on its weight. So I put it on my scales and found it weighed right at 1000 lbs. My scales are analog DOT scales (20,000 lb capacity) so reading them closer than about 10lbs isn't feasible. Anyway this is the total weight with A/C compressor, alternator, PS pump, starter brackets, carb, parking brake and oil.
I also weighed the Duramax/Allison fully dressed package but as it is mounted on my installation cradle I can't give a concise number. It came in at about 1490 but thats with the cradle which I'll weigh afterwards. The cradle must be in the 100lb range but I'll find out later.
The genset came in at about 350 and won't be returning to its old rear location so the total rear weight bias shouldn't change much (I hope)
Just having fun, Hal
