LCAC_Man #1027 LBZ Duramax Conversion

This album will cover the Duramax/Allison conversion(including dash cluster integration), installation of airbags to assist suspension, conversion of vacuum brakes to Hydroboost, replacement of Onan gas generator with a Onan/Cummins 5500LP, inverter/charger installation, dual roof a/c installation, and Bedroom reconfiguration that will add "pass-thru" storage.

cross over straight across the bottom of the engine at the highest part of the oil pan


new crossmember drivers side tie in


new crossmember tie in at passenger side mount, running low on welding gas so finish welding will happen later, I'll also be boxing in the open area below the factory gm engine mount tower


will fabricate the rest of the engine mount cradle tomorrow, it will become a full cross-member.


New drivers side mount, still needs gussets added. This is all new structure


New passenger side mount, picked up the stock crossmember holes in the frame and will add 2 more up forward where the clamp is.

got the backspacing measurement correct so no interference with the engine components


more blade pitch and much thicker blade material


only 3/4" larger in diameter but wider blades

original 23.25" duramax puller fan on the left, 17.5" original(to the 440 when I got it) pusher in the center, and new 24" pusher on the right


passenger side temp engine mount, these will be cut away as soon as the permanent structure is fabricated and installed.
