AC unit

Brent Posted 2017-09-13 10:57 AM (#4976) Subject: AC unit Regular Location: Seabeck Washington My AC unit is mounted on a huge mess of a platform on the roof. It leaks. I plan on removing all of it and starting from the main roof to install a new unit. I have never installed an AC unit before but I don't understand why someone went to this extreme to do it, unless the old Duo-Therm is a real heavy unit. I am guessing i should be able to mount without this mess on my roof. What do you have going on there??? That's odd. A normal AC roof top unit mounts directly over an existing 14"x14" vent opening.
