I was reading Blair's post and he mentions his speedometer is jumpy. The original speedometer cable from the transmission has a sharp curve in it. It sounds like the cable in #509 needs to be removed and the cable taken out of the housing and cleaned and lubed with a good speedometer cable lube. If you do this now it will most likely survive. If you wait much longer the jumping will get worse and then all will stop as the cable will die. This does not have anything to do with the non working odometer. Depending on your current setup you may find more than one cable separated by speed sensors and senders. Look at all the components and be sure they are able to spin freely. Good luck. Bill
