This is the iconic FMC Motor coach belonging to Leif Scott, as seen in the Mobile Mansions book which illustrates the best of the best. Jim Steinborn's coach is also in the book.. Now is the time to get this most notable FMC to a new owner who will appreciate all that it has to offer.
The old 440 Chrysler engine and trans were replaced with a Cummins 5.9 turbocharger power plant and overdrive transmission. This unit has more than enough power and is the one that should have been in all the FMCs for its simplicity, convenient maintenance aspects, not to mention being the most common diesel ever built which means mechanics can work on this motor and parts are readily available. The rims are the newer and lighter 19.5" Alcoa brand. There is a newer 3500 gas generator in the place of the old propane tank, as it was removed. It sports a new 12,000 btu roof mounted air conditioner which freed up the side compartment for outside storage.
What this FMC needs outside of a good home is 2 new 6 Volt environmental batteries. It has a single line crack in the driver's side windshield. The brake boosters are in need of a rebuild as they leak a little. Outside of that, the simple maintenance items like oil, grease, tank flushing and wiper blades should be all that one would need to complete this coach back to road worthy use and enjoyment.
