| Anyone have an old air filter assembly? Thought there might be a few around, since there are a number of conversions to EFI or other power plants..
I posted this in the market place too. Hope it's OK to put it here too. |

Location: Victoria, BC. Canada | If I was in your spot I'd seize the opportunity to ditch that big-pig of a Donaldson that's in there and jury-rig a lightweight plastic jobby. Must be a million different ones out there that would work.
One thing we all learn about our FMC's is that they are butt-heavy and some take great pains to lighten the load back there. I consider my biggest achievement in that vein was ditching the old 360-LB Onan for a 160-LB Yammy 6000.
Whichever way you go, good luck.

| Thanks Terry, guess I'll go for the jury-rig approach. Got to pull the carb off anyway, so I'll just take it to a parts store and see what will fit..

Location: Cottage Grove, OR | Actually, in my opinion the Donaldson is the correct one to use. It is large so it has a high capacity for air flow and for accumulation of particles without getting restricted. It also takes out very fine particles. Some do not. It can also be placed on the driver side so that it gets cool air. |

Location: Ignacio Colorado | They should be mounted horizontal to work properly. Need the dust boot pointing down. Early coaches had them mounted on the right, vertical which is not right.
