Does anyone have the current part number and manufacturer for brake shoes, flexible brake hoses to the wheels, and master cylinder? I have unit 660. Thanks. The old part numbers don't seem to match up to anything.

Hey Bruce,
Brake Shoes are no longer made by anyone. Big cities have at least one "old" brake shop that still relines shoes. That is the best you can do for the 14-1/8 X 3-1/2W shoes that are ALL the same shoe. Treat them like GOLD . . . yours are the only ones that may ever be available to you.

Brake Hoses are custom made by hydraulic shops (like Parker). You should get a longer rear hose made (each side) that connects to the LOWER wheel cylinder to bleed the rear brakes. A simple loop hose clamp is added to the backing plate to keep the hose out of the whirling U-joint. The fronts already have the hose to the lower cylinder. Take them your hoses and they usually make them up while you wait.

Two different Master Cylinders were used. One for the smaller Hydrovacs is NAPA #NMC M2194, or Raybestos #MC36359, and has two same size reservoirs apparent in the metal cap. The one for the larger Hydrovacs is NAPA #NMC M2134, or Dorman #M39012, and has different size reservoirs apparent in the cap. Look at the two different MCs on the Nets, then see which is used in #660.

Welcome to the group Bruce. Lou knows a crap-ton about these coaches and (like several others on this and the Yahoo Forum) the information he shares is 'Gold'.

What part of Dodge are you in?

Thanks Terry. I'm in the Jacksonville, FL, area. I've kept #660 in the garage the last few years and now it's time to get it going.

These linings fit both front and rear FMC applications. Is the price per axle or per wheel?

Looks like per wheel to me. I have disc brakes on the front on my coach. Just checked the pads and they are good.

Now I'm really confused, Henry.

Do FMC's have axles? I ought'a get under there and have a look one of these days.

Do you mean that they are selling 4-shoes per kit?

Thanks,
Terry

Last bullet item in the "Features" list says - "Sold as a set for two wheels"
That means 4 (four, 1,2,3,4) shoes as it take 2 (two, 1,2) shoes for each wheel.
So I have to teach you guys how to read and count too ???

Don't thank me . . . I had given up. Thank Bruce #660. He kept checking . . . and found them at CARID.
Don't know how many they have, so get them while you can . . . especially at that PRICE !

I hit a little snag, but I hope it's temporary. CARID called me and said the brake shoe manufacturer is behind on filling the orders and it will be August 11 before they are ready to ship my order. I hope they will indeed ship my brake shoes then. I will keep you informed.

I WAS going to buy a set just now, but they show two different part numbers for front and rear P-500 chassis (the web page makes you pick a vehicle before you can add it to your cart), and the pics for the descriptions are different? Anyone want to clarify?

I hear you. Tried the same and decided I would have to call them for clarification/confirmation.

Has anyone out there actually bought a set of these that is confirmed correct?

Thanks,

Dan, I went through this same scenario a year ago with listings online that just weren't accurate or I couldn't get confirmation of stock/delivery time, etc. Out of frustration I called Centric and they told me they stopped producing this shoe and at the time had no plans to continue. I found that the online stock for these shoes just didn't exist even though some websites said 'available'. Just wasn't so. Maybe things have changed in a year but i would call Centric first before you send money anywhere. I ended sending my shoes to Phoenix for reclining. Excellent results.

Ok, I will wait until someone receives the product and verifies.....Or just have mine relined when the time comes. At that time, I WILL be needing rear drums unfortunately....but that may be someone else's problem. lol

Just got off the phone with a sales rep and he's going to confirm availability/fitment with the manufacturer. Should hear back shortly and will share any news.

His fitment info from the link above - Centric 112.00220 - says for 75' Ford P-series.

Would like to be certain about this as I don't want to mess about with shipping the wrong shit back.

Yes, P-500 REAR, fits front and rear of FMC. P-500 front brake is a different part #.

I have an order in with them and talked to them today. Right now, they are saying the back-ordered shoes will become available on 8/19, supposedly. This after talking to the manufacturer. Ha! I will believe it when I have the shoes on my hands. Worth a shot, though.

Yea, I ordered a set last week too, and they called me Monday and said it would be "later". I said not to charge my Card until they shipped, and he said no, they had already charged my card. I said you can't "keep" my money until MAYBE you will get something to ship. I asked him to CANCEL the order, and had my "refund" back the next AM. Guess I'll wait and see if you and the others get them . . . and then if they (carid and/or Centric) will be smart enough to make more than the ones ordered. Can't be that many Ford Parcel Delivery Vans still running around. Sure no one at either place ever heard of a FMC 2900R. Brake ON ! Lou #120

Think I'll do the same. I asked the Carid agent to send me an email once he confirmed availability/fitment. He said he would. Three days now and no response.

I've become skeptical of people who say they'll do something and then don't. Bad business in my books.

However, just as soon as someone on here lets us know they actually have a correct set in hand, I'll dive-in like a Polar bear to seal-soup.
