I'm close to doing this myself..I was going to use a universal flex hose for the upper, and match the lower hoses angles with something at the part store. I believe somewhere in the archives here, or on Yahoo FMC, their may be some part numbers? Seems like I seen them..

A flex hose will not flow coolant as well as a standard/smooth hose. Something to keep in mind when or if you experience cooling issues.

I would do as suggested above: use smooth hoses and not flex hose and just take the old ones down to Napa or other parts house and tell them "I want one like this one". They can either find it in the parts book or find something with the correct diameter and bend hanging on the wall. If longer than needed you can trim the end of smooth hoses to the length that you need.

Hello all, Happy New Year. I have been looking for the original part numbers, that can be found on the spec sheet. Top hose is 5101794-01, that may have been a NAPA number. I can still read it on the original hose. The lower may be 5100667 or 5101610 according to the parts sheet online. The only thing that I can read on my old hose is 76EP75, which doesn't match up to anything. Recently, I had my radiator re-cored in Hialeah, Florida. So it is still all copper. I just wanted to start off with new hoses too.

I searched everywhere, I ended up ordering a half dozen different part numbers off Ebay and Amazon. After getting those hoses, some looked different than the online pictures. The best ones are just a little longer, same exact shape and I.D., Those numbers are as follows:
Top Hose, Dayco 70975, Bottom hose, Goodyear 60880
.
I tried shopping the local auto part stores, they looked at me like I was crazy, and then mumbled something about Honda hoses being available, and maybe a Nissan hose or two. Everthing else was available as a generic flex hose. So that was a dead end. I gave up looking locally. These online hoses actually fit very well, for the coaches 646 and up, at least.
As a reminder, I saw somewhere that there is supposed to be a coiled metal spring-looking insert in the lower hose. That should be re-used or replaced. My lower hose had a tee in the middle to which a heater hose is plumbed. (Coach number 821) either way, the lower hose I mentioned should work.

Hello Sportline,
Thanks for some numbers for radiator hoses.

Unless you are the original owner of #821, are you sure you had 40 year old original hoses ?

How many miles are on #821 ?

Uh, what "spec sheet" are you talking about ?

FYI, your radiator is probably brass, not copper. Copper is structurally too soft.

Do you or any one else have any real test data showing the unsuitability of a flex hose ? Some comparison tests where complete system flow was checked ?  There are lots of places in the engine cooling passages that have a more tortuous path, including thru the thermostat, than the relative large diameter and "smooth" curve that a flex hose has. Lou #120.

When I changed to the Ford aluminum radiator, the water pump and the suction port on the radiator were different sizes (2" and 2 1/2" if I remember correctly). Modified a hose and used an angled metal exhaust section. Has held up well, might redo someday if I run out of projects. As far a the flow capabilities of a flex hose, it may or may not do as well. I did end up using a flex on the return side.Just added a picture.
