Does ANYONE really have any to sell ?

So after trying to order these from several sources it appears that they are unavailable from the manufacture Centric. I have one shoe that has a hair line crack across it but not through the rivets. I'm planning a trip in a couple of weeks to Door County WI and I guess I either run with the crack or pull the shoe and try and find a place to reline. Anyone have a part number other than Centric?

This supplier may have one or more - http://www.autoatlanta.com/centric/search.php?pn=112.00220&app=8270...

Big Cities often have a shop that relines brakes.
You are looking for a brake shoe that is 14-1/8" X 3-1/2" that was used on Ford P-500 Delivery Vans from at least 1956 to 1978.
If you find one or more please share Part #, price, and SOURCE.

Thanks Lou.
I order a set from auto Atlanta a couple of weeks ago and received this from them today:
Your order 205356 has been updated to: Long Term Order - This means we do not have an ETA for your parts and they are on an extended backorder
So I'll do some searching from the specs you provided and post my results

Since I spent an exhaustive search on these shoes I thought I would update this thread to save others time. After calling all the vendors who list this shoe on the web I am getting "oh we don't supply this anymore, we will correct our listing" or "we can order from manufacturer". Don't choose the latter because I spoke with Centric this AM and they said "unavailable". I asked her if it was discontinued and not being made anymore and she said she cannot confirm that, only unavailable. If you find a shoe that fits the P500 make sure it is for the rear brakes of that vehicle not the front. So long and short of it is unavailable or obsolete.

Thanks for sharing this Laguna!

Of all the stuff I feel needs to be sorted out with the FMC, I believe the disc-brake conversion to be of the highest priority. There's another (transit) FMC here in Victoria that I've recently learned had worn out its rotors.
Poor guy is also facing yet another engine (471-Detroit) rebuild after recently having it rebuilt. Water in the cylinders.

I read about various FMC's for sale with 'disc-brake conversion' and know its been the topic of many discussions here and on the Yahoo site before. Frank Boorman (Ontario) has really dug into this as well but not sure
how far he got. Even a front brake disc conversion would be hugely significant.

There has to be something readily available out there that - with slight modifications - could safely be adapted to these wonderful old coaches.

If someone out there has good information to share on this topic, perhaps starting a new DISC BRAKE-CONVERSION thread here would be the way to go.

Feedback appreciated.

PS. #846 (aka: Pacific Breeze) passed 'the Malaht Test' on Sunday. It's a steep & curvy mountain passage just north of Victoria and she came through with flying colors.
I am now confident she'll take us to Long Beach (Tofino/Ucluelet) here on Vancouver Island in Sept for my Son's wedding. Yee-fuggin-ha!

Yea discs would be nice! I forgot to mention there are a number of Chinese outfits offering the relined shoes (FMSI 2041-22) but I didn't really want to go there so didn't vet them out. Who knows what you're getting with them. I ended up sending mine down to Phoenix for relining.

The shame of it is my shoes, all four wheels, had good meat. Maybe they had a 500 miles on them! Unfortunately all four wheels were contaminated with what I think was grease. I spent literally weeks cleaning these shoes until they had a nice gray color back and when i was satisfied there was no more contaminates coming back to the surface. After my first test drive I knew I had issues. Pulling both front drums I found my left shoes were greasy as hell. Right shoes looked ok. So we tried to burn the grease out but shoes just burned like tiny forest fires. They were clearly saturated throughout.

When I was doing these wheels and noticed how much grease I was pulling out of these drums it made me wonder if it was overkill. All four brakes had some amount of grease on them. The service manual calls for creating a "dam of grease". If you use too much isn't it going to find its way out? Anyway I just packed the new bearings with sufficient grease and not any excessive amount.
