OK, I am kinda new here at posting. But I see messages about who saw what FMC on the road, when and where.. So, since I am going to dust off number 507 and head out to the Concours d'Lemons in Seaside, Ca. I figured I would give a heads up in advance to look see if I am passing by.

I should have the 61 Rambler American Convertible in tow... What a combination!

Just checking over the coach now and found the alternator dead. The Leece Neville unit seems to have a bad regulator. I worked on these alternators back in the 70's and am stirring up old memories to test it out.. Then I need to find parts REAL SOON... IF I need parts!

While he will not be able to be at the coming rally at Ocean Cove, #506 of Olympia, WA will be "on the road again" before long so the three of you need to show up at the same place and time! We just need to find who has #508,

708 is just in Boulder Creek. Tell me more about this so-called "Concours d'Lemons". When/where?

The show-- event-- anti-show-car-car-show is in Seaside Ca. Saturday 8-20-11 At the Park across the street from City Hall.

You can see some of what shows up by looking at youtube.com search concours d'lemons or the website is www.concoursdlemons.com
This deal is KIND of loosely connected to the 24 hours of Lemons --- Yep, crummy cars, 24 hours....
No one wants to admit they are associated with another attendee.... HA!

I am planning on attending the Ocean Grove Meet... Will see if we make it to Monterey and Seaside and back home---

Now back to cleaning and checking... All Systems Go!?

Will you be entering the coach in the ass end sled catagory? Or do you have another entry? I entered my coach in a local car show a couple times. Got a couple lookers when it still had a turbocharger. Very small town here, (I;m sure Denny or Stephen will agree) got more attention at gas stations while traveling.

I agree.  Gas stations are larger and have more action than Bill's home town!    How do I know?  I have been there!

Home with a WIN from the Concours d'Lemons. The FMC was a HUGE hit... Had at least a couple hundered people walk through... Would have been OK, if the dang PARK was not also the favorite GOOSE hang out... Just how do you get GOOSE POOP out of orange shag carpet????

Anyway, since we had the ONLY Orange Formica Orange velour, Orange drape, mutli-print, pillowed up plastic flowered, gold grained mirrored, BEDROOM equiped 70's rig, completed our front yard with with green astro turf welcome carpet surrounded with a plastic white picket fence, plastic pink flamingos, era correct outside table with matching orange table cloth and plastic table flowers....

We took Award For ---- Best Pimp Mobile....

I had at least 10-12 people ask me if my FMC was the same one they see over in Carmel/Oceanside area. So-- Whoever that is, there are plenty of folks that have seen it around and know what it is.
There were many that knew about the FMC and history of these coaches. I was kind of surprised. And have two guys asking me if they cold buy it..
Heck, isn't everything For Sale?

Sounds like you had a really great day!  Now I am really looking forward to seeing your coach at the Ocean Cove rally at the end of September.

I don't know who has the coach that has been seen in Carmel/Oceanside area.  There are more roaming around than one would think.

Well, We made Car and Driver Magazine with the FMC... If you click on the photo, it will bring up many more shots of the event and a few more of the FMC.. Inside and out. Guess I should have cleaned it up before the cameras went inside! Ha!

Rod Nice coach. The editor chose your coach because it is worth printing pictures of it. The trash talk must be ignored. The inside pics just show it works. Like staging a house for sale. Enjoy the 15 min. of fame.

Oh dear, I have owned far too many of these cars in my automotive career. Good thing I live in Washington or I would be a regular 'LeMon'. Currently own a 1974 FMC 2900R and a 1980 AMC Eagle. Have owned in the past a 1960 Rambler American 2 door, 1971 AMC Javelin, 1976 Chevy Vega, 1970 Ford Econoline Van, a 1970 VW Bug, 650 Triumph Chopper and rode in Dad's old Volvo as a kid.

Just got a couple copies of the November issue of the German Old-Timer magazine Auto Bild Klassik. They did a pretty nice article on the Concours d'Lemons and have a few nice photos and story of the FMC. Last month I used the FMC to tow my 1988 Camaro "Race Car" to participate in the 24 hours of Lemons at Infineon Raceway (Sears Point Raceway) This is a 2-day race for $500.00 cars... I did not see any cars there that looked like $500 cars, but what the heck the place was loaded with racers from all over the U.S. and Canada. There were more than 150 cars entered for this event. My $500 Camaro lasted about one hour before I blew a head gasket... oops..

BUT the FMC was again an big hit... We were along one of the spectator entrance walkways and had people coming by comenting on the FMC all day both days... Even had he daughter of one of the other FMC owners stop to have a look.
