Nice report but essentially inconclusive, ie: the first liar never stands a chance. Want more variables ? Try MIL-STD-810, "Department of Defense Test Method Standard for Environmental Engineering Considerations and Laboratory Tests". We (AlliedSignal/Honeywell) got half way thru the sand tests on the T-800 engine for the Comanche Helicopter (Contract Cancelled) and the US Army decided Iraq had "different sand". We had to start over with a "new and improved Army Spec Sand".
Some (me included) think the oil filter is more important to engine longevity. Do it kind of like voting - early and often.

Thanks for your info Lou.. No article is going to cover it all and just can't read them all. Need a Cliff's Notes or Readers Digest version for something like this....ds.
