Rico I take it you are wanting to swap to an Allison transmission. Are you thinking of going to the 4 speed as the transits use? Best bet is to find the whole package from the flywheel to the driveshaft. The large bunny sapien Ha ha pulled the Allison out of #1046 but I think he must have sold it or he would have mentioned it already.
The Allison adaptation uses a bell housing adapter, different flywheel, starter, a crankshaft hub spacer, and a much different transmission mounting cross member. Also the total package is a couple of inches longer than the stock Chrysler 3 speed so the engine must be moved to the rear or the differential moved to the front.
Now before anybody goes crazy about moving the differential forward, "it has been done before". It is one plan for the installing of the Chrysler 518/46RH overdrive where the 3 speed is.
I am debating swapping from the Allison 4 speed in my transit (#847) to the Chrysler overdrive. If this occurs then a total Allison transmission with adapter kit and cross member will be available. I had trouble getting the title to my transit but it came in the mail yesterday and plans can now start to take shape.

Hey Bill, I was thinking about Allison 4, 5 or 6 speed, I was wondering if it will be better with the 5 or 6 speed,
or even if is possible to use the 4 speed setup, for that.
wondering if it will be worth it.......?
