Debur/trim just enough to fit the trans./diff. flanges. (Go easy!)

A lathe would be better but a steady hand and some eye protection is adequate.


Cut to length and debur threads.


Tap right through the pipe threads and into the smooth bore below. There is plenty of material there although not much is required for this application.


This bushing size was selected because the 1/8th inch female iron pipe (npt) thread size uses the same tap drill size as the 3/8-16 tap used for the threaded "ready-rod".








This standard floor drain has an almost perfect 4-1/4 diameter flange.

Selection of components for the Mark-II was a bit more thoughtful. Lowe's had all of this "stuff". A $20 bill may leave some small change but not enough for coffee.
