Detroit Diesel Hydravac - Vacuum Boost Pump

Developed a serious oil leak, NAPA Oil Seal 7918 did the trick. Also replaced vacuum hoses.

Rear brake booster and vacuum lines. On the upper left is the King Cruise unit with cable to throttle.That cable (or one like it) fell against the turbo and melted in OK or TX. Getting it stopped was a hoot..


Vacuum manifold, new vacuum hoses. This picture shows it hooked up wrong. The vacuum hose from the hydravac need to go to the T in the middle. The two ends go to the brake boosters via one way valves. Had no vacuum assist on initial test run.

New vacuum line up and over instead of across the engine behind the water pump.
