Tried several corner configurations and found this cutout created the most tight turn at the radius. | Found hammering it in with a rubber mallet worked perfectly and held tight. | This cutout was too wide and allowed the trim to back out over night. | Even trying a bit of contact cement did not hold it in place better than the proper cut hammered in place the first time with a large rubber mallet. |
A couple of ends were nailed when overlapped with welting. | Sand, blow off, glue, roll like mad and don't get too close to the edge before routering a smooth edge as the formica is brittle and snaps off easily. :P | No wonder this coach was expensive as it wasn't cheap for the materials and it's a ton of work... | All worth it in the end...!!! Oversized template made for transmission cover. | Completely over-engineer by metalsmith friend. | Insulated with sound deadening and offers lots of room for air flow over top of transmission. | Relocated the shore power and transfer box to engine compartment. |
