Here's a before and after of the half shafts. What a mess, half a day to clean them up. Not my favorite job for sure.

OEM? shock mount. Must have been a bad day for the 'mechanic' to do it this way.

While in there I decided to beef up the lover shock mount. These are notorious for bending so this 'should' help eliminate that problem.

Front side of reinforcement.

New upper shock mount. I'm using longer rear shocks and needed to raise the mount to avoid U-joint bind. Project kreep keeps raising its ugly head.

Finally got the last fittings and finished the brake lines. Had to make a couple of 90 degree brackets to redirect the front brake hoses. Bleed the brakes with DOT5 fluid so hope that project is complete. Got the new front shocks mounted also.

Here you can see the improved shock angle and the barely see the lower re-enforced shock bracket.

Got the fans mounted for the CAC radiator. These were used on 1995 VW Sciracco's as is the radiator. Unusual in that the main two speed fan, belt drives the secondary fan. The high speed will be trigered using a thermo switch that comes on at 140, off at 125.

I ended up moving the aux trans cooler to this location. It will be the primary fluid cooling heat exchanger then go through a pair of water to oil coolers.

Hear's a look at the fan shroud. The shroud is unusual as the shroud surrounds a second shroud that is attached to the engine which has a flexible gasket between the two. It permits the engine to move inside the main large shroud but maintains perfect blade tip to shroud distance. GM used this approach on their Duramax engines. This one was used on the 25" fans on later(2011-2016) engines

I made the shroud two piece for ease of service later if needed ("if needed", RIGHT!)

Here's a look at the CAC radiator fan shroud and partial heat shield to the right. The fuel pump, pressure regulator and primary fuel filter are mounted on the firewall.
