Brake Hose Re-Routing - Rear brakes
Author: BigRabbitMan (Show all albums)

Recently, an owner of an FMC was having significant challenges getting the air out of the brakes, particularly the rears. The pictures in this album show the routing of my rear brake hoses which now feed the lower brake cylinder rather than the upper one. This resolved bleeding issues for me and for some others. Note the attachment/securing of the hose to prevent it getting tangled in the drive axel.

These pictures are of my driver side rear wheel brake backing plate from under the coach. Note that the new, longer flexible brake line is secured to prevent it getting tangled up with the axel which would cause a total loss of brakes. By feeding the brake fluid into the bottom wheel cylinder, the air is pushed up into the upper cylinder and then out when bleeding the brakes.
