Stove/Oven Replacement
Author: BigRabbitMan (Show all albums)

Due to our use patterns and due to a high sensitivity to hydrocarbon fumes, the decision was made to remove the original stove/oven (sold to another coach owner) and replace it with an electric cooking system. These pictures follow the transformation once the orignal unit was gone.

Here is the operator's view. Fan switch to the left, water pump switch to the right, and light switch under the right side. Good to go!

Step up and start cooking!

And that part is done. See the following pictures to see the cutting board insert. Keep on rollin', rollin', rollin'.

Well, I finally got the custom cutting board fitted for the stove top place in the counter. The cutting board is VT maple and is 1.5 inches thick. The edges are routed out 1.0 inches to allow the board to nest in the old stove opening where it is secure and doesn't stick up too high. The edges of the board overlap the countertop by 0.5 inches for support.

I think it looks good! A lot better than the plywood that was doing temporary duty. Now I need to build the drawer for cooking utensils that will go underneath the cutting board.
